Eagle Rock Teacher Licensure Program

The Eagle Rock Fellowship at Eagle Rock is a residential, community-based opportunity for aspiring teachers who are passionate about alternative learning strategies, social justice, youth development and empowerment, and re-engaging high-school students in their education. While teaching at Eagle Rock, fellows participate in an alternative licensure program approved through the Colorado Department of Education, and are eligible to receive full teacher certification after completing the 10-month program.

Fellows start the year co-teaching in the classroom full-time, alongside Eagle Rock instructional specialists. The teaching pairs design and deliver unique curriculum based on student and staff interests and skill sets, as well as anti-racist, abolitionist teaching strategies. Fellows take on additional responsibilities as the year progresses; in their final trimester, many fellows co teach with other fellows. Fellows participate in weekly learning seminars and complete assignments independently, and engage in all residential and community components of Eagle Rock, working some evenings and weekend days. Fellows also support the work of our Professional Development Center, connecting with educational initiatives and networks across the country.
